Musée Théodore Deck, 1 Rue du 4 Février, 68500 Guebwiller, France
until 8th September 2024
The solo exhibition Timeline, featuring the works of gallery artist Patrick Loughran, continues at the Museum Théodore Deck. Organised by the European Institute of Ceramic Arts in partnership with the town of Guebwiller in France, this show offers visitors a chance to view Loughran’s masterful ceramic creations that represent a search for forms and images, which the artist has never seen.
Through this exhibition – and its series of surprising compositions – we are invited to explore Patrick Loughran’s artistic career. In the style of a historical fresco, we discover the importance of improvisation in the artist’s work, from his beginnings as an artisan potter to his practice as a contemporary artist. By presenting drawings and sculptures, as well as wall pieces and plates inspired by Théodore Deck’s decorations, Loughran takes over the exhibition space and pays tribute to the illustrious 19th-century Alsatian ceramist. We encourage everyone to take the opportunity to discover this exhibtion and the works of Patrick Loughran.
