In Silhouette Extended, Nagel explains, “Collaboration lies at the heart of what I seek, not chance, but a dance with matter. This dance, or struggle, becomes visible in the works I present here: tunnels that circumnavigate a space in between. Cuts and sharp edges that define the flow of an outline. Pattern and colour that contradict the form or echo its subtle dynamics. Some movements even escape their well-composed silhouette.

I don’t pursue the perfect finish or the ultimate expression. I search for a language of immediacy and the potential within objects.”
