Johannes Nagel’s approach is not about creating static, flawless objects. Instead, his work exists as an ongoing dialogue between artist, material, and process—constantly evolving and often surprising.
In Silhouette Extended, Johannes Nagel states that ‘collaboration is at the heart of what I am looking for, embracing not chance but rather a dance with matter. This dance or struggle is quite visible in the works I am presenting here: tunnels, circumnavigating a space between. Cuts and sharp edges rendering the flow of an outline. Pattern and colour contradicting their body or echoing subtle dynamics. Some of the movements escaping from their well composed silhouette.
I am not looking for the perfect finish or the ultimate expression, but rather for a language of immediacy and the potential of objects.’
