‘My artistic practice is based on abstract investigations and reproductions of specific objects and themes that experiment with new perspectives regarding time, place and matter. I question, seek to understand and challenge our constructed reality and the definitions that form our foundation of understanding.’

Pernille Braun is a Danish artist who actively investigates time, place, and matter, using her exceptional expertise to transform glass into abstract sculptures. She embraces challenging, elusive elements and celebrates the ambiguity of glass. “I view this medium as possessing almost mystical characteristics, enabling unforeseen transformations as the material shifts from soft to hard,” she explains.
Braun studied at The Royal Danish Academy of Art, School of Design, and she earned a Master’s degree from the Royal College of Art in London in 2008.
After more than two decades of sculpting with glass, she has exhibited her work in numerous international shows, including solo exhibitions in France, Denmark, and the USA. Her work appears in important collections such as:
• Danish Art Foundation in Copenhagen, Denmark
• Musée Ariana in Genève, Switzerland
• Bornholm Art Museum, Denmark
• Design Museum in Denmark
• V&A Museum in London, UK
Pernille Braun continues to live and work in Copenhagen, Denmark.
